1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

There were many memorable moments - the scale and grandeur of the various palaces and forts with the Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, and Jaipur standing out. The wall paintings in the fort in Bundi were quite stunning and being in Pushkar for Holi was very memorable. The marble carvings at the Jainist temple at Rankapore were quite extraordinary. We really enjoyed Bhindar, not just staying in the Palace, but the waking around the town without a tourist shop in sight! Meeting local people - without exception everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Try not to do too much. We only has 2 nights in 12 days in one place and we could have done with a couple of night elsewhere to relax and explore some of the places rather than just visiting the usual sights. The distances between places are long so carefully select an itinerary that doesn't have long drive times and ensure you have places to stop on route Have plenty of change for tips! Leave room in your suitcase for bring things home. Sample the street food. This is a great tour - go for it!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Generally - while we had a driver we used local guides for most of the attractions and supported local traders.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Our tour of Rajasthan was arranged by a tour operator that Uneasy no settle had put us in touch with. It was a great tour taking in all the main sights plus a few off the beaten tourist trail. It was superbly organised and everything went off without a hitch. I was particular impressed that Ravindra, from the tour operator, answered all the various questions that we had before we went out which gave us reassurance that it would all go well - which it did. Ravindra was a great guide and was very caring but not overbearing. He took us to some nice places to eat, including some street food and added a few things that werent on our itinerary, such a the cultural show in Udaipur which was surprisingly good. Overall it was a great experience and excellent value for money. I would certainly recommend the tour operator we used to other of your clients I am grateful to you for putting us in touch with them.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Finding ourselves in India at Holi - and being involved! We were prepared, by our guide, for what would happen - the showering of colours onto friends and strangers alike - and so dressed accordingly, and joined in! As a result, we had great fun!

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

In our experience, using an Indian company paid off, both in terms of price and local knowledge. (It might have seemed like a huge leap of faith, but choosing our tour operator, proved the right decision)

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

To some (small?) extent - our visit to Keoladhio National Park for a bird-watching Safari put a small amount of money the way of locals.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Excellent! The tour operator provided us with an excellent, extensive and varied itinerary for our trip. They were flexible when our itinerary needed adjusting (around Holi). Our driver was excellent, having perfect English and an encyclopaedic knowledge of India. He was good company, experienced, safe and reliable. The guides provided for the various tours were excellent, knowledgable and spoke good English. The hotels were mainly three-star establishments, which were perfectly adequate, except in one case - which the operator promptly changed. All in all, they gave us an wonderful first taste of India.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

Ranakpur Temple, wandering the streets of Bundi and visiting the Hindu temples there with the guide.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Make sure you are clear with your guide about what you are looking for. The guides are very helpful and very willing to work with you to give you a wonderful experience that expands your horizons on the country and it's culture, and it really helps you develop a deep appreciation for the country. Be vocal about what you're looking for, ask questions, and don't be afraid to try new things!

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes. As much as possible, the driver/tour representative would look to providing local guides when visiting monuments to help benefit local people. The same was done with recommendations for places to shop and places to eat. Additionally, getting to stay at the nature reserve also felt like a great opportunity to learn about conservation efforts in India and where assistance/support is needed.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

This is my fourth trip that I've found through responsible travel, and my first trip with our tour operator. It was a fantastic and rewarding experience which I will not soon forget. It really opened my eyes to a lot I didn't know about Indian culture and history, and the tour representative was patient to all questions, impassioned to teach about his culture, and flexible to changes and requests. If you're looking for kind people, beautiful monuments, gorgeous temples, and some of the best food you've ever had, I highly recommend this trip!

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your vacation?

The wide variety of different experiences of place, people and food enjoyed within a relatively short period. The most important contributor to this was of course an excellent and friendly guide, who I would thoroughly recommend to others.

2. What tips would you give other travelers booking this vacation?

Time spent agreeing a personal itinerary and checking the hotels booked is always well spent. Everyone wants something slightly different and a tour organiser will need advice to provide the best mix.

3. Did you feel that your vacation benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

I hope so. Money spent in the local economy, particularly with smaller traders and guesthouses will always be beneficial.

4. Finally, how would you rate your vacation overall?

Excellent.

Thank you for your review. Your itinerary really did benefit the local traders. From the accommodations maintained by local villagers to those purchases of fresh items locally, shopping at the local vegetable market and the veg bought from small vegetable shop and the vegetables cooked for you in your of countryside accommodations where you stayed.
