We were a small and delightful group. The boat was cozy and comfortable, the landscapes and cloudscapes, sublime; and the day trips and hikes, especially our visit to Iona and its sacred and ancient abbey were vitamin C for the spirit. (more)Patricia Knowles

A memorable experience....The wildlife in general (eagles, otters and more!), but in particular the boat trip to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. Being able to get so close to puffins, razorbills and shags on Lunga was an incredible experience. (more)Michael Hall
We saw lots of wildlife but I think my most memorable moment was being surrounded by nesting puffins on Lunga Island. We had a wonderful time. Scotland is a marvellous country that I cant recommend highly enough. (more)Patricia Smith
We all loved the sheer breathtaking beauty of the island. The tour was fantastic; Jaquie was a brilliant, friendly and knowledgeable guide. Our tour was amazing because the dolphins and porpoises decided to put on a dazzling show! (more)Helen Arbon

Memorable parts? Traveling without a car made us travel with less, slow down, and engage more with people around us. So we had a wonderful time meeting people from Scotland and all over, which was great. Tips? Recognize that you'll spend a bit more time getting between places than you otherwise might, so let go of the rush to "get there". And pack light. Local benefits? We were in small hotels except for the extra nights we added in cities, and staying in small towns. So... (more)Mark Gurvis

Memorable parts? On a personal level; learning what types of hiking and travel are ideal for my partner and me. Otherwise; spending time in Boat of Garten, a small town in Scotland. During our relatively short stay, we felt a sense of community and acceptance for us and the other tourist coming to the town. Tips? Stay longer. Local benefits? I do feel the local people benefited from our stay. Rebecca and Andy used local resources for food and was able to suggest local sights... (more)Patricia Gabris

Memorable parts? The weather was amazing but even more so were the wonderful crew - Steve, our chef - so inventive and creative. He went out of his way to make sure we all had food we loved, but also stretched our taste buds in the way he cooked and displayed the dishes. Iain our skipper made sure all needs were catered for. For example I made an off-the- cuff remark about another hook in my cabin. When I came back from my walk there it was! Another passenger had difficulty walking- he took... (more)Etta Geras

Memorable parts? Reaching the ultimate destination StKilda in fine weather Tips? Be prepared for some long hours at sea - and take sea sickness tablets , even in fine weather the North Atlantic swell is significant Local benefits? Memorable parts? I was very happy that we found the puffins rock (Dn Mr) on Sanday. With another traveler I surrounded the peninsula with the help of a map with only a few details like some walls, the church and the silhouette of the island - no paths! But the puffins were exactly where they had been indicated on the map, and we had a wonderful, long walk. But I also enjoyed the boat trips - plenty of time to watch the sea, the sky, the birds, the seals, even some dolphins... Tips? Enjoy... (more)Brigitte Horlitz

Memorable parts? There were so many memorable times. The variety and beauty of our wonderful country was a continuing delight. The views and feeling of achievement after climbing the Cross of Greet, The Lecht, The Forest of Bowland, Glenshee and many other hills were unforgettable. Memorable parts? Being "on the water" was exhilarating! When the weather was good, it was glorious, and when the weather was stormy, it was exciting. Tips? Miminize luggage. Storage space is modest. Layers are necessary. Don't forget the rain gear. Be flexible. Much of the itinerary is dictated by weather and tides. The vacation providers office staff are very kind to help with arrangements. Memorable parts? The location was superb with amazing views overlooking the glen.
